The office for Arizona Congressman Ruben Gallego won’t comment on a new outside push to get him to challenge Sen. Kyrsten Sinema in the 2024 Democratic primary.

The campaign is the second launched in as many days that would seek to oust the lawmaker progressives blame for stalling President Joe Biden’s agenda.

Sinema’s stance on the minimum wage, rules that let minority Senate Republicans stop bills and her fellow Democrats' social spending plan have drawn outrage from progressives all year.

Sinema’s office says she’s still negotiating with President Biden on the spending package.

But two political action groups say they’re preparing to back a 2024 senate primary challenger.

One is a Latino-focused campaign which spent millions in Arizona in 2020. Nuestro PAC hopes to draft Rep. Ruben Gallego to run against Sinema.

The other through the digital platform CrowdPAC is a locally organized effort to fund a primary challenger. It’s received about $40,000 dollars in pledges so far.
