A series of murals are being commissioned by the Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture’s, "Artists to Work Program." The first project will celebrate the spirit and identity of Phoenix’s Hispanic heritage at one of the entrances to Park Central.

Artists have until Friday, Oct. 8, to submit their portfolios online via Artlink, one of the partners along with Park Central.

Up to three artists or art teams from the applicant pool will be selected to prepare a design or drawing of their proposed murals and will be notified Oct. 15.

The winner(s) of that round will be decided in early November and will receive a $15,000 commission.

Additional murals are expected to be created under this program for private walls throughout Phoenix.

Funds for the murals are provided by the federal American Rescue Plan Act.
