Cyber Ninjas CEO declines to testify before Congress about Arizona election audit
The head of the firm hired to conduct a partisan election review in Maricopa County declined an invitation to testify before the U.S. House oversight committee.
Cyber Ninjas CEO Doug Logan was invited to testify at a Thursday morning hearing but will not attend, according to an announcement from the committee. As of late September, Logan had also refused to produce documents on the procedures used for the controversial election review, details of his funding sources and other records requested by Democratic Reps. Carolyn Maloney and Jamie Raskin.
The committee will hear testimony from two of Logan’s fiercest critics: Maricopa County Board Chair Jack Sellers and Supervisor Bill Gates, both Republicans who “refused to accept the ‘Big Lie’ and are speaking about the dangers of this partisan audit,” according to a committee announcement.
The widely criticized review concluded that Joe Biden received more votes in Maricopa County than Donald Trump during the 2020 presidential election — an outcome already confirmed by state officials.
But in a report concluding their work in Arizona, Logan and other contractors hired by Senate Republicans pivoted to what they described as concerns with the county’s election system — many of which were quickly debunked by Maricopa County election officials.
Election experts criticized Logan's Florida-based cybersecurity firm for its lack of prior experience in elections, and Logan’s own embrace of election fraud conspiracies.
The committee may yet subpoena Logan in an effort to force his testimony and the disclosure of records from the election review.
