Arizona's state colleges will require vaccinations for employees, including student workers
Download mp3 (980.6 KB)Northern Arizona University, Arizona State University and the University of Arizona announced Friday that all employees must be fully vaccinated by early December.
The move aligns with an executive order signed by President Biden in September that requires all federal employees, including those at institutions that contract with the federal government, to be fully vaccinated by Dec. 8.

A representative from UA says it has approximately 16,000 employees, and 51% of employees have presented proof of vaccination.
ASU says the mandate will impact the university’s 29,000 employees, while NAU says nearly 50% of its approximately 7,500 employees have already provided proof of vaccination.
All three universities have confirmed that student workers will be required to be vaccinated, in addition to staff and faculty.
The universities are also allowing staff and faculty to apply for exemptions, as is required under the executive order.
