Airstream is known for its round shape and polished aluminum.

A 15-acre site in Chandler that once featured a Sam’s Club warehouse is now home to a popular brand in the recreational vehicle industry.

“We Are Airstream” is a local family-owned franchise that closed its Scottsdale location and moved to the Loop 202 and Arizona Avenue. The showroom and sales floor will use about 40% of the facility with servicing and storage taking up the remaining space. The franchise expects to have 60 employees.

“Chandler is at the heart of the burgeoning southeast valley and we were impressed with the strong demographics in the area,” said Aaron Korges, president of the franchise. “We look forward to building a long-term relationship with the community as we ramp up operations in Arizona.”

According to the RV Industry Association, manufacturers have shipped a record number of travel trailers and motorhomes this year. Nearly 511,000 were built through the first ten months of 2021 compared to the previous full-year record of 504,599 set in 2017.
