Local First Arizona is hopeful that this year's Small Business Saturday will be even better than last year.

“It’s still not going to be what it was two years ago in 2019, (2018) when it was really at a high, but we do believe it's going to be a growing process to get us back to that point," said Senior Business Membership Manager Marcus Browne.

Browne is also counting on other events such as Cyber Monday and Giving Tuesday to keep the momentum for small businesses going, he said.

The Small Business Saturday tradition began in the 2010s and has become a way for local consumers to connect with the services available in their area, Browne said. And Local First Arizona assists with promotion necessarily to make consumers more aware of these local businesses.

“We relaunched our local marketplace, e-commerce marketplace Shop Local First," Browne said. "It’s our version of Amazon, but in comparison it features all members throughout the entire state who are offering consumer-based products.”

Local First Arizona also encourages local businesses to stay connected to consumers by adding their upcoming events to the nonprofit's calendar.
