Mesa residents are being asked to share their input about the future of city parks, recreation and climate action priorities.

Residents are asked how often they use different programs and amenities like parks, pools and playgrounds and what would make them more attractive. The online survey asks how well the city’s parks and recreation department meets residents’ needs. 

It also asks for input on how the city can limit climate change. Residents are asked to choose their top three most urgent climate actions for the city from 12 options. They include resilient water supply, disaster preparedness and locally-grown, lower impact foods. 

Residents can take the survey at footprintfuturemesa.com/community-survey until Dec. 17. The city said the survey was recently mailed to a random sample of 4,000 households.

Mesa began its Footprint for the Future campaign with a series of community meetings in September to gather feedback about the Parks and Recreation Comprehensive Plan, followed by a series of virtual meetings about the Climate Action Plan.
