The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has released new guidance that shortens COVID-19 isolation from 10 days to five. This new period applies to people who test positive, but are asymptomatic.

Will Humble with the Arizona Public Health Association says guidance on how to deal with the pandemic continues to evolve, because science is a constant process

“Every day that goes by during this pandemic you learn something new, and I know it can be frustrating for a lot of people who just want to know like ‘just tell me what’s happening and just tell me once.’ Sadly that’s not the way science works," Humble said.

He also says each time experts learn more about COVID-19, it builds the evidence database and helps guide the decision-making process.

Humble joined The Show to talk about the new guidelines.
