The U.S. has a shortage of nurses. Here's why nursing schools are still turning away students

The United States has been experiencing a nursing shortage for a number of years, and the pandemic has put that reality under an extremely bright spotlight as current nurses have faced multiple COVID-19 waves in and out of hospitals.

Some people may have chosen not to enter the profession because of the virus’s impact. Another concern is whether there are enough professionals to train the next generation of nurses.

Catherine Todero, dean of the College of Nursing and vice provost for the Phoenix campus of Creighton University, joined The Show to talk about the current state of nursing.
