The Bullhead City School District is dealing with a bus driver shortage.

With all hands on deck, routes are being rearranged in an effort to get students to class on time.

Spokesperson Lance Ross says even the district’s transportation director has moved from a desk to a driver’s seat, when needed, as more bus drivers are out due to COVID-19 or other medical reasons.

"What we’re facing right now this week has to do with three schools, four routes, and we hope that it’s a temporary consolidation just for this week," Ross said.

Ross also say "the workforce is running on fumes” and students in affected routes will be picked up earlier and dropped off later, hopefully just this week.

It’s unclear how many drivers are out.
