Georgia Lord

Goodyear held a tribute on Friday to former Mayor Georgia Lord, who died in December at age 83.

Lord was also a real estate agent, the matriarch of a military family living abroad during the Cold War, and a cheerleader for Michigan State University.

“Leadership matters. Leaders set a tone. Georgia was a delight to all and was respected. She was beautiful with style and class,” said state Rep. Joanne Osborne, who used to be on the Goodyear City Council.

Lord occupied the mayoral office in Goodyear for about a decade.
