The SAT is going virtual in 2024. Why educators are worried this could hurt students' futures

Educational inequities have become even more obvious over the course of the past two years as the pandemic has continued. Among other things, some students simply don’t have the technological access that many of their peers do — including inconsistent internet connections.

We now may see that affect students’ efforts to have opportunities in higher education, as the College Board has decided to move the SAT online in the U.S. in 2024. That decision has a number of educators worried about how students — particularly those in low income and rural areas — may be affected.

The Show spoke with Stephanie Parra of All In Education to learn about these concerns.
