Phoenix weather: It may hit 80 degrees by the end of the week
The Phoenix area has seen slightly colder temperatures and high winds over the past two weeks, but above-average temperatures are expected by the end of this week.
“We’ll see a warming trend with highs going through the lower 70s. Looks like temperatures will probably peak out, probably on Wednesday or Thursday, with highs even approaching 80 degrees in Phoenix," said Matthew Hirsch of the National Weather Service.
High temperatures for Wednesday and Thursday are expected to be about 10 degrees above average.
Hirsch says daily lows, which have been close to freezing in parts of the Valley, will increase as well
Expected weather conditions this week in Phoenix
Monday: Sunny, with a high near 71 and a low around 43. East wind 5 to 10 mph.
Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 74 and a low around 45. Calm wind becoming east northeast around 5 mph.
Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 77 and a low around 48. East northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the afternoon.
Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 80 and a low around 47. Northeast wind around 5 mph.
Friday: Sunny, with a high near 78 and a low around 49. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph.
Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 81 and a low around 50. East wind 5 to 10 mph.
