The Pima County Board of Supervisors voted 4-1 on Feb. 15 to allow residents to vote on Election Day at vote-anywhere centers. This is a change from the current model, where you would need to vote in your specific precinct and could potentially end up in the wrong location.

It’s a model Maricopa County adopted in 2018 and continued in 2020, with several other counties following suit, to make voting easier and also easier for ballots to be tabulated at a quicker pace.

The effort was in part spearheaded by Pima County Recorder Gabriella Cázares-Kelly.

The Show spoke with her to learn why she felt this change was necessary.
