Gov. Doug Ducey is appointing two new members to the board that governs the state’s three public universities. Gregg Brewster and Doug Goodyear are set to join the Arizona Board of Regents.

Brewster is a health care sales consultant, and Goodyear runs a Washington, D.C.-based public relations firm. Brewster is an Arizona State University alumnus, as is Goodyear’s son. Brewster and Goodyear will serve up to eight years on the board, taking part in decisions around tuition rates, academic affairs, and capital development planning for ASU, University of Arizona and Northern Arizona University.

Brewster and Goodyear will replace William Ridenour and Ronald Shoopman on the 12-member board. Ridenour and Shoopman were both appointed to the board by Gov. Jan Brewer and are finishing out their eight-year terms.

In his announcement, Ducey also named seven new members to the state board of education, which oversees Arizona’s public schools.
