In the Arizona Department of Economic Security’s latest report, the state has hit a record low unemployment rate.

The Department’s Doug Walls says in March more than 5,000 people entered the labor force, looking for jobs.

“With the lower unemployment rate, it’s more people are finding jobs, finding opportunities for better paying jobs, raising their standard of living," Walls said.

The unemployment rate fell to 3.3% in March. The lowest since the state began this method of tracking in 1976.

Arizona’s nonfarm employment decreased month-over-month. The largest losses were in professional and business services as well as leisure and hospitality.
