Mirabella at ASU in Tempe opened in late 2020 by Arizona State University as a place for seniors and retirees to live — and also engage in lifelong learning. But the high-rise building has been generating headlines more recently because of a lawsuit that was filed against its neighbor.

That suit called for the Shady Park concert venue to lower its noise levels and end events earlier in the evening, and a judge ruled in Mirabella’s favor.

Ty Chiko is an ASU graduate student and a musician-in-residence at Mirabella. The Show spoke with him about the experience of working with Mirabella residents and what it's like to live and work there.
