Phoenix could see its first 100-degree day of the year this week
After a weekend with high temperatures in the 80s, the Phoenix area will be warmer this week.
National Weather Service meteorologist Jared Heil says there’s a chance that Phoenix could record its first 100-degree day of the year by Tuesday.
“Quickly gonna rise up into the upper 90s as early as Tuesday, and there’s about a 30% chance that we will hit 100 degrees, which would be our first triple digit day, officially, in Phoenix this year,” said Heil.
Heil says the beginning of May is usually when Phoenix hits highs in triple digits, so it’s not unusual to have it happen around this time of year. The first day in triple digits for 2021 was May 5.
He also says other than Tuesday, high temperatures will stay around the low to mid-90s for most of this week.
