Mesa police have a new online portal for people to submit complaints or compliments about officer behavior to internal affairs.

Users can choose to stay anonymous or receive electronic updates on their submission.

Mesa police Sgt. Chuck Trapani said the digital entryway is an easier way to report feedback than having to wait for a call back from investigators.

“The portal actually makes it more effective because not only can you give written documentation you can also upload video. You can upload photographs. You can upload audio,” he said.

Trapani said the portal is a feature of the Mesa Police Department’s new software system for tracking complaints and compliments called IAPro.
