Donor-conceived advocates are changing sperm and egg donation laws

Colorado recently became the first state in the country to ban anonymous sperm and egg donation.

In a bill signed by Colorado Gov. Jared Polis, lawmakers also limited the number of families a donor’s cells can be used for.

It has long been a largely unregulated industry, but now, activists have united in groups like We Are Donor Conceived and are advocating for more legislation like this.

Sara Luterman covered it for the 19th; The Show spoke with her to learn about the changes.
