For decades, the PGA tour has been the centerpiece of the world's competitive men's golf.

Legends like Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer helped make the tour popular, and then Tiger Woods took it to previously unimagined heights.

But now, the PGA tour faces its greatest existential challenge with the emergence of the LIV tour, which is backed by Saudi Arabia and is doling out tens of millions of dollars to draw PGA players to its tournaments. The first U.S. event of the LIV tour begins June 30 in Portland, Oregon.
