Valley Metro announced this week that all downtown Phoenix light rail stops are reopening Saturday, after some had been closed for more than two months due to construction.

Three stations on Van Buren, Jefferson and Washington streets in Phoenix have been closed since mid-April to update tracks for light rail expansion projects.

Valley Metro’s Brittany Hoffman says the stations are opening a day ahead of schedule.

“Our construction crews were amazing in working together to make sure that we could get the track work done, and then our operations crew was able to start testing early,” said Hoffman.

Hoffman says re-opening the stops will also shift the light rail back to its original schedule, arriving every 15 minutes on weekdays, and every 20 minutes on Sundays.

The light will operate on its Sunday schedule, arriving every 20 minutes, for July 4.
