Maricopa County election workers in Phoenix process early ballots by removing them from ballot envelopes to prep ballots for counting on Oct. 21, 2020.

The Maricopa County Elections Department is now offering bonuses to entice temporary election workers.

Temporary election workers can earn bonuses between $1,000 and $1,750 depending on how many hours they work at the Maricopa County Tabulation and Election Center.

The county is offering bonuses to ensure there’s enough staffing for the August Primary and November general elections, as more than three million ballots are expected to be cast.

County Recorder Stephen Richer said temporary workers are “the backbone of running safe, secure, and transparent elections.”
