Marea Verde Nogales is just one group in Mexico helping people get access to abortion.

Feminist networks in Mexico have been responding to the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision last month overturning Roe v. Wade and opening the door to restrictive abortion laws in states around the country, including Arizona.

These groups, who call themselves abortion providers and companions, have sent messages of solidary and support, and many are working across borders to create new options for pregnant people in the United States to access abortions in Mexico or from their own homes, with the support of Mexican organizations.

Kendal Blust is with KJZZ’s Fronteras Desk in the Sonoran capital Hermosillo.

The Show spoke with her to learn what the outreach looks like along the Arizona-Sonora border.
