Workers at a local marijuana dispensary recently voted to form a union, but their employer Curaleaf has filed objections to the election with the National Labor Relations Board.

Curaleaf did not reply to a request for details on its objections to the vote to unionize by workers at one of its dispensaries in Phoenix.

The company’s protests mean those employees are not yet represented by the United Food & Commercial Workers Local 99, where Martin Hernandez is organizing director.

“From our side, we don’t see how the company will prevail on these objections. We believe there was nothing wrong with the process,” said Hernandez.

A federal judge in Phoenix recently barred Curaleaf from interfering with unionization efforts while an unfair labor practices case against the company awaits review.
