The Arizona Game and Fish Department is seeking public input on proposed changes to the 2023-24 Arizona fishing regulations.
The department’s fishing regulations are updated every two years. They cover the amount of fish one can catch in a day, what to do with a fish once it’s caught, acceptable fishing locations and other topics.
There are four proposed changes for next year’s regulations, including creating a catch-and-release only fishery for all fish species at Lower Goldwater Lake.
A valid Arizona fishing license is required for residents and non-residents older than 10 to fish in any public accessible water in the state.
The department will host a public forum webcast July 28 from 6-9 p.m. Comments can be submitted until Aug. 12. Proposed changes will be presented in September.
