Sonoran health authorities are urging preventive practices as COVID-19 cases continue their rise.

In just two months, new weekly case counts have risen from some of their lowest of the pandemic to nearly 1,900 as of the most recent state report.

Over the last month, more serious metrics have also been on the rise, with 48 hospitalizations and 10 new deaths reported on Saturday.

While recognizing that the statewide mandate is no longer in effect, Sonoran health authorities are recommending mask use — especially among vulnerable populations — in busy or poorly ventilated indoor spaces.
