A group of conservative, pro-Trump lawmakers from Washington, D.C., now has a local branch.

Members of the Arizona House of Representatives have launched a new chapter of the State Freedom Caucus Network.

The plan is for local groups to pool resources, expertise and strategy with the U.S. House Freedom Caucus to help conservatives win state offices.

Organizers say states are the key to breaking gridlock in D.C.

Members of the Arizona Freedom Caucus have picked Rep. Jake Hoffman to be chairman.

“To lead them in this battle against the Left, and against the establishment GOP that refuses to answer to the will of the people,” said Hoffman.

Hoffman envisions an Arizona-first agenda focused on growing liberty, opportunity and wealth.

He said nearly a third of Republicans in the state House have joined his coalition but they’re not required to publicly disclose their membership.

Congressman Andy Biggs is a former chairman of the U.S. House Freedom Caucus.

Biggs introduced Hoffman at a news conference Friday to launch the Arizona chapter.

“The fight is at the state level and you’re seeing that today on so many incredibly important issues,” said Biggs.
