Phoenix Mercury player Brittney Griner appeared in a Russian court again Tuesday for a testimony that focused on legal cannabis use.

While the use of cannabis is illegal in Russia, Griner’s attorney argued the drug has legitimate medical use in other countries.

Her defense team previously pointed out that Griner was prescribed by a doctor and was given permission to use it from the Arizona Department of Health Services.

Though her attorney was claiming she still did not purposefully bring vaping cartridges but was instead hastily packing.

Arizona State University law professor Valena Beety says the evidence doesn’t match Griner’s charges.

“Even what has been conceited was two vape cartridges, less than a gram of cannabis oil. It simply doesn’t match this allegation of large-scale drug trafficking," Beety said.

Griner is expected to testify before the court Wednesday.
