These are the 7 bachelor's degrees Maricopa Community Colleges will offer in 2023

Starting next year, students will be able to pursue bachelor’s degrees at some of the Maricopa County Community Colleges campuses. 

The district plans to introduce seven bachelor’s programs in fall 2023 including in elementary education, behavioral science and information technology. A B.S. in nursing is also being planned for fall 2024. Maricopa Community Colleges says it designed programs in high-growth, high-demand fields.

The district is still in the process of applying for accreditation for the programs. If approved, these will be the first baccalaureate programs ever offered by Maricopa Community Colleges.

Arizona lawmakers in 2021 passed a bill to allow community colleges to offer four-year degrees.

Degrees offered starting fall 2023

  • Bachelor of applied science in data analytics and programming — Mesa Community College
  • Bachelor of applied science in information technology — Estrella Mountain Community College and Phoenix Community College
  • Bachelor of applied science in public safety administration — Phoenix Community College and Rio Salado Community College
  • Bachelor of science in behavioral sciences — South Mountain Community College
  • Bachelor of applied science in nuclear medicine technology and computed tomography — GateWay Community College
  • Bachelor of arts in early childhood education: dual language — Mesa Community College
  • Bachelor of arts in elementary education and special education — Glendale Community College, Paradise Valley Community College and Rio Salado Community College
