Flagstaff's minimum wage is going up in January. Here's by how much
Minimum wage is increasing in Flagstaff on New Year’s Day, officials announced this week.
There’s some history to Flagstaff’s minimum-wage increase. In 2016, voters approved a measure that, starting next year, will bump up the wage annually by the increase in the cost of living.
And data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics showed that the consumer-price index increased by a little more than 8% compared to last August. So minimum wage will go up the same rate, to $16.80 an hour.
The minimum wage applies to any one working at least 25 hours in a year within Flagstaff itself. The current state minimum is $12.80 and is also tied to the consumer price index.
