Oct. 11 is the last day to register to vote
Some important dates are coming this week with the general election around the corner.
Tuesday is the last day to register to vote for those who want to participate.
Maricopa County Elections Director Scott Jarrett says early ballots will be sent out the following day.
"We’ll be mailing out 1.9 million early ballots to those voters that are signed up on the active early voting list, or those voters that have made a one-time request for the early ballot. One thing that’s important to note is all these voters have requested to receive the early ballot by mail," Jarrett said.
Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer says ballots should be in mailboxes within two or three days. He encouraged voters to send them back as soon as possible.
"The sooner we get it back, we can immediately begin doing the signature verification, doing the scanning, doing the bipartisan ballot processing team, sending it ahead to tabulation." Richer said.
The last day to mail those ballots is Nov. 1. Richer said ballots received before Election Day will be a part of the first batches of results released on Election Day.
