Linda McCartney
The University of Arizona says its Center for Creative Photography will host the retrospective of Linda McCartney next year from late February through early August.

The desert around Tucson was the late Linda McCartney’s first backdrop for making pictures when she was a student at the University of Arizona in the early 1960s.

Now her former school is set to host the North American premiere of an exhibit celebrating McCartney’s decades-long career as a photographer.

UA says its Center for Creative Photography will host the retrospective of Linda McCartney next year from late February through early August.

Nearly 200 of her works will be organized into broad categories.

The section called artists has McCartney’s portraits of people such as Jimi Hendrix, Aretha Franklin and the Beatles. The family section documents her view of intimate family life in London. And the photographic exploration section will have a wall of Polaroid prints on public display for the first time.

McCartney’s daughter Mary and her former husband Paul helped choose and organize artwork for the exhibit.
