How COVID-19 made maternal mortality rates even worse for people of color

Maternal mortality rates in the U.S. were already higher than other wealthy countries before COVID-19 made things even worse.

COVID-19 is much more risky for pregnant people, and now, new data from the Government Accountability Office shows how much worse American mothers fared during the pandemic — especially those of color.

The Show spoke about the data with Axios health care reporter Sabrina Moreno.
