Kimberly Yee speaks at the Republican Party of Arizona election night watch party on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022.

The Show regularly checks in with the Republic’s editorial board to talk about current issues facing the state and the region — featured in columns on the newspaper’s op-ed pages.

The midterm elections were not great for many Republican statewide candidates in Arizona. Those running for U.S. Senate, governor, secretary of state and attorney general lost to their Democratic opponents, pending an automatic recount in the attorney general race and the lawsuits that will come once the results are certified Dec. 5.

But that was not the case for Treasurer Kimberly Yee. She easily won reelection, beating her Democratic opponent by more than 11 points.

Yee recently wrote an op-ed in the Arizona Republic about that. To learn about the piece, The Show spoke with Elvia Díaz, the paper’s editorial page editor.
