With three weeks left in his administration, Gov. Doug Ducey has issued a farewell message to Arizonans. The Republican governor thanked voters for entrusting him to be the state’s top executive and said he did what he set out to do.

“Today, Arizona is thriving. We are a magnet for people and for jobs. In fact, many of you probably didn’t even live here when I first came into office," he said.

He touted among his accomplishments job availability, record investments in education and passing the American Civics Act. Ducey was the first Arizona governor in more than three decades to serve a full two terms.

Democratic Gov.-elect Katie Hobbs will be sworn in on Jan. 2.
