Arizona will see an influx of travelers this week when college football teams square off in the Valley and in Tucson for bowl games.

The action begins Tuesday when Wisconsin and Oklahoma State meet in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl at Chase Field in downtown Phoenix.

The most high-profile game takes place on New Year’s Eve, when TCU faces Michigan in the Fiesta Bowl at State Farm Stadium in Glendale.

That’s one of the semifinals in the College Football Playoff, and the winner will move on to the national championship game against either Georgia or Ohio State.

Chief Marketing Officer Jose Moreno says the Fiesta Bowl is close to being a sellout, but fans still might be able to snag tickets.

“The Fiesta Bowl, we’re pretty much sold out. I think there’s a few that are lingering on there through our partner at SeatGeek. So certainly encourage any local fans to get on there if they wanna still attend and see what’s available,” Moreno said.

On Friday, Ohio and Wyoming face off in the Barstool Sports Arizona Bowl in Tucson.
