The Telegraph Fire hit home for a couple of members of the Arizona Legislature, including Rusty Bowers, who lost a house in the blaze.

Now an ad hoc committee formed after the fire has released its report. 

The group heard from several Arizona residents affected by fires in Flagstaff, Globe and other communities.

The committee also brought in experts from the Forest Service and academia.

In addition, it looked at how federal agencies fight wildfires, how they respond in the aftermath and what the state can do to help.

Since the Telegraph Fire, lawmakers have expanded Arizona’s inmate fire crews.

They have also passed legislation to thin forests and help victims with recovery.
