A proposed Arizona Coyotes’ hockey arena and entertainment district in northwest Tempe will be decided by voters in a special election in May. Before then, any individual or organization can make arguments for or against the project.

After gathering enough signatures in December to send the proposed project to a public referendum, three propositions relating to the development of the 46-acre project are up for debate.

According to the city of Tempe, arguments made to support or oppose the project will be printed on a publicity pamphlet intended to go to registered voters. Individual arguments must be no more than 300 words and must have a notarized signature.

A deposit of $100 to the City Clerk’s Office must be made with the argument by 5 p.m. on Feb. 15.
