Coconino County officials are considering new regulations for short-term rentals. The county’s Board of Supervisors met this week to discuss a proposed ordinance, which would – among other things – require rental operators to obtain a permit or license.

“We are now under this ability to be able to permit and to have some kind of oversight and notice that I think is going to help neighborhoods and help communities," she said.

Former Gov. Doug Ducey introduced legislation last year allowing cities and towns to pass ordinances regulating short-term rentals. A public hearing will be held on Feb. 28 to allow Coconino County residents to weigh in on the proposal.
