All eyes are on the Phoenix metro area with this week’s Super Bowl and related activities.

Greater Phoenix Economic Council, known as GPEC, the group tasked with convincing corporations to expand in the region, says the big game is a rare chance to show off the area.

GPEC CEO Chris Camacho said Super Bowl LVII is a chance to attract corporate investors, tourists and new residents to help the region continue to grow in both the short term and long-term.

“There's so many more global eyes on Phoenix than ever before," he said. "And hosting these mega events only puts us in a conversation around the dinner table or puts us in a conversation in a boardroom. That's really what we want is to lever these kinds of events into major marketing opportunities.”

Camacho said that although the stadium may be the same as the last time Glendale hosted a Super Bowl, tourists will experience a different Phoenix Metro area than they did in 2015.  Both the Super Bowl and the Waste Management Open are expected to generate around $700 million to $1 billion into the Arizona economy.
