A federal judge could ban abortion pills as some states fight to expand access

A federal judge in Texas is expected to rule soon in a lawsuit that aims to block access to one of the two drugs typically used in medication abortions. Plaintiffs in the case are seeking a nationwide injunction, meaning the drug would become unavailable across the country.
At the same time, Arizona has joined a multi-state lawsuit that argues the FDA is too restrictive when it comes to that drug, and that it should be more available nationwide.
For more on how these two competing lawsuits may play out, The Show spoke to Barbara Atwood with the James E. Rogers College of Law at the University of Arizona. She began by discussing the significance of the Texas case.
