The U.S. department of Agriculture (USDA) has announced federal funding is available for rural Arizona residents whose homes were damaged by wildfires in 2022.

It’s called the Rural Disaster Home Repair Grant Program, and is confined to residents of Coconino and Yavapai counties who meet income and household size eligibility requirements.

Grant amounts up to $40,675 are available in presidentially declared disaster areas caused by the Arizona Crooks, Pipeline and Tunnel 2 fires. The monies may be used for home repairs, preparing a site for a manufactured home or relocating one, according to a USDA release.

For more information on how to apply, email Shelagh McLaughlin or call (928) 759-9301 ext. 4; or visit the USDA website
