Hobbs announces cross-border electric trucking pilot program
This week, Gov. Katie Hobbs announced a cross-border electric trucking pilot program aimed at introducing more electric trucks in the international supply chain.
$350,000 have been earmarked for the pilot phase, with a $1.5 million grant application being prepared by Nogales Port Authority.
Hobbs met with Sonora Gov. Alfonso Durazo and multiple mayors to tout the project.
"The billions that are forthcoming from CHIPS funding ripple across not just our economy and through the supply chain in Arizona, but also across the border," Hobbs said.
Hobbs added the state is investing $100 million in semiconductor infrastructure and research.
