A Democratic state representative is facing an ethics complaint, after being caught on a hidden camera hiding copies of the Bible in the members' lounge.

Rep. Stephanie Stahl Hamilton publicly apologized for her actions. In response to the ethics complaint, her attorneys said the incident was a “peaceful protest regarding the separation of church and state,” and that Stahl Hamilton was acting “in response to the weaponizing of religion in politics.”

The incident has reignited the conversation about the role of religion in politics, both here in Arizona and elsewhere.

The Show spoke about that with Donna Kafer, chaplain at the Arizona Legislature. She’s been there for 25 years and talked about what she considers the proper role of religion in American politics.
