Arizona Diamondbacks fans have had a new place to watch their team over the past couple of weeks. The Diamondbacks are no longer on Bally Sports Arizona.

After its parent company, Diamond Sports Group, missed a payment to the team, Diamond Sports Group declared bankruptcy this spring. Major League Baseball is now in charge of producing and distributing Diamondbacks games, including a streaming option.

The Diamondbacks aren’t the only team to no longer be broadcast on Bally Sports. The Phoenix Suns will be on over-the-air TV next season, as well.

To get a sense of the changing landscape of live sports on TV and how regional sports networks like Bally Sports play into that, The Show spoke with Daniel Kaplan, who has covered the business of sports for more than 25 years.
