Uber users across the Valley may want to consider alternatives beginning this evening.

Some Uber drivers say they’re going participate in a nationwide strike. Organizers are encouraging drivers to shut off their app through the weekend.

A Facebook page called Uber Freedom, lead by Abe Husein, is encouraging drivers to strike.

“There’s no representation for drivers. There’s no legal rights that we have and they keep taking advantage of drivers. So, we’re at the point now where we’ve had enough and we’re trying to rise up and raise awareness that  their drivers are fed up with their policies, and the way they treat their drivers," said Husein.

They’re asking for Uber corporate to raise Uber X fares by 60 percent, add a tip option to the app, and increase both the cancellation fee and the minimum fare to $7.

More than 22,000 people have liked the page, and more than 1,300 said they were going to participate.

In a statement, an Uber spokesperson told KJZZ the following:  “We always welcome feedback from driver-partners. Each week, tens of thousands of drivers across the U.S. begin using the Uber app to make money on their own time, to reach their own goals. Drivers say they value the flexibility and the chance to be their own boss, and choose Uber over other options because it fits around their life and works for them.”
