This month, Phoenix residents will elect a new mayor. Whoever wins will govern a sprawling city; full of unique neighborhoods, each with different concerns. One of the most high-profile areas in Phoenix is, of course, Downtown.

If you've been there in the past year or so, you've noticed that the city has invested a lot of time and money. Much of it has been in the central business district. But one area just north of the highrises has been growing without as much attention from city government.
