Parking in downtown Scottsdale.

During Monday night's work study session, Scottsdale City Council members received a parking report that addressed daytime parking problems in the northeast area, roughly east of Scottsdale Road and north of Third Avenue.

The report included these possible solutions:

  • Reducing the length of free on-street parking from three hours to two hours.
  • Building a public garage.
  • Expanding trolley service.
  • Encouraging transit.
  • Requiring businesses to provide more parking for customers and employees.

No formal date has yet been set for the council to vote on parking changes.
