BLM to announce solar-energy zone in Yuma County

The Bureau of Land Management is set to announce Friday that it has designated about 25-hundred acres in Yuma County as a new solar-energy zone.
The government hopes to speed development of renewable energy by identifying sites suitable for such projects and streamlining the process for approving them.The Agua Caliente Solar Energy Zone site is north of Interstate 8 near Dateland. It’s the third such site identified in Arizona.
